A Practice Focused on the Face

The practice concentrates on the face, the neck and the hairline rather than offering the full range of plastic surgery. That focus shapes everything from how consultations are structured to which procedures are offered.

Facial anatomy is dense and unforgiving. The nerves that move the face, the ligaments that hold its structures in position, and the layers of tissue between skin and bone sit within millimeters of one another. Work that respects those relationships produces results that look like the patient rather than like surgery. Work that does not is what gives facial surgery its reputation for looking obvious.

The procedures offered fall into four broad groups. Surgical work on the face and neck covers the facelift and its variations, neck lift, eyelid surgery, brow lift, rhinoplasty and related procedures. Hair restoration addresses the hairline and density. Non-surgical treatment includes injectables and fillers and laser treatments. And reconstructive work covers scarring, functional nasal concerns and earlobe repair.

The Consultation

A consultation begins with what the patient wants changed, in their own words, before any procedure is named. That order matters, because the procedure a patient asks about and the concern they describe frequently do not match. A request for eyelid surgery sometimes turns out to describe brow descent. A request for a facelift sometimes describes changes concentrated entirely in the neck.

The examination that follows assesses skin quality, the position of the underlying tissues, facial proportions and, for nasal concerns, the airway. From that, Dr. Harris sets out which procedures would address the concern, what each is capable of, what it is not capable of, and what recovery involves.

Patients are told when a procedure is not appropriate for them, and when a less extensive procedure would serve them better than the one they came in asking about. Both conversations happen regularly.

Patients who prefer to begin remotely can request a virtual consultation and move to an in-person visit once a direction is established.

Where Procedures Are Performed

The Beverly Hills office has dedicated treatment rooms for non-surgical procedures, and Dr. Harris performs all of his facial plastic surgery procedures at a private surgical center in Beverly Hills accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities.

Learning More Before You Visit

Three things tend to produce a more useful first consultation.
